VS, Int, Maj. Gen. Frederick A. Irving, Supt. of West Point, rises from banquet table occupied by Gen. J. Lawton Collins, Gen Hoyt S. Vandenberg, Lt Gen Willis D. Crittenberger and others. In his talk he welcomes all to the celebration, introduces Crittenberger as master-of-ceremonies. VS, Crittenberger recalls some of his early days at the "Point", introduces as a man equal to his country's need, Gen. Vandenberg. VS, Vandenberg says that the AF acknowledges its debt to the Military Academy and to its graduates, who, at risk of great physical danger, pioneered the infant Air Force to its present greatness. He speaks of the history of the AF, pronounces West Point's contribution to the AF as the proudest achievement of its 150 years of history. Note: focus slightly soft.
